How mobile addiction takes toll on child’s mind and health
The last time I saw a baby crying around me the mother immediately attended to the child and handed over her mobile phone to him while she worked in another room. It has become easier to handle children with the help of technology or should I say increase their addiction to technology or mobile addiction from a very small age. When kids get older parents scold the for using mobile phone so much that they forget about studying, about their health and eventually school.
Parents blame mobile phone for every little problem that a school going child is facing. But they don’t realize that in the times of today mobile phone has become the biggest escape and the best alternative for anything. The easiest way to stop crying baby is to provide him with a game or a video on mobile phone.
Music helps people stay calm and work but sometimes the addiction increases so much that it starts to affect our mood. We cut off from the world and listen to songs without realizing that it’s actually not the right thing to do.
Mobile addiction: Are parents responsible for this?
Parents themselves have no time for us as they themselves are busy on their mobile phones and why not with the rapid pace of increase in modernizing technology everything nowadays is just a swipe away and that is when the role of technology comes into the life of a child as well. Children have a tendency to imitate adults as they have a very strong urge to act all grown up. It is very evident that parents who use too much mobile phone may impact the kids to be the same as they are and hence kids cannot be blamed for spending a lot of time on phone because that is what the parents have been doing themselves.
Usually when both parents are working the child is provided with a phone so that they can contact them whenever there is a need and feel secure. But obviously that is not what cell phones are made for. Even the most basic phone contains services like calling, texting and social networking sites along with games and what not for entertainment. A child can easily spend 24 hours on the mobile phone and not get bored. So when parents are away you cannot expect the child actually study along with the technology resting next to him/her until and unless the child is very sincere and dedicated.
Mobile addiction: Is technology making us sick?
Many think it is the technology that has brought an amazing revolution for this generation but the bitter truth is no matter how much technology has helped us to improve our day to day life skills it has also degraded a sense of growing up and actually working hard. During my childhood without phones we used to run out games and then make new ones with own rules. But now there are thousands of them in the Play Store App why would anyone want to physically roll a dice.
Mobile phones have impacted the health of a child to such an extent that it damages brain cells and many body tissues become of the radiations emitted by the phone. They resist using their brains and have become lazy. Instead they search for shortcuts may it be doing calculations on calculators or watching videos which help them with tricks to learn chapters in the last moment rather than actually studying the topic from textbooks.
There are always shortcuts for whatever you need available on internet. Mobile phones not only affect the mental health of a child but also the physical health. It causes problems such as fatigue, pain in joints, ringing ears, memory loss and sleeplessness. Staying connected to the rest of the world through internet is necessary but it affects a lot when you see the attractive lifestyle of famous people on the Internet. It grows a strong urge in kids to imitate them as well and so they end up trying to be a fashion model or setting the style statement. The competition is of number of likes on Instagram posts and the difference between following and followers shows how much popular a person is.
Don’t make mobile phones your world
Those who don’t get to connect to the rest of the world through a mobile phone are the ones who feel left out in the group. Friends discuss jokes shared last night the one friend who has not seen it feels neglected by the rest. In such cases the mental health is also affected. It is the need of the hour is to realize that mobile phones kill the childhood of a child it is better to keep them away and limit the use mobiles as they are the biggest distraction for a person. The only way to improve the situation is to educate children on how to use mobile phones wisely and not affect their mental as well as physical health because even though technology has connected us so much to the world that somewhere our kids have lost their childhood.
